It simply means “Too Long, Didn’t Read” ….. TLDR
As we read candidate Resumes, responses to our Candidate pre-work assignment Questionnaires and review drafts of Candidate PowerPoint Presentation Slides ….. we might be tempted to reply TLDR.
Are we guilty of generating TLDR documents ourselves?
Yes, we probably are. This is evident when we ask candidate finalists if the members of the interview team appear to
have read the Candidate Presentation Booklets describing them. These are sent to the interview team 24 to 48 hours before the candidate’s interview. We often have them respond that “No” they did not appear to have been read. We hope that some interview team members may have at least read the one page Executive Summary description of the candidate at the beginning for the booklet?
